Opportunities we see

Agrotechnology

The expanding integration of information technology in Agrotechnology is revolutionizing agriculture by enhancing efficiency, improving crop yields, and promoting sustainability. Advanced data analytics and precision agriculture techniques provide farmers with real-time insights, increasing productivity and reducing risks.

More Demand

Rising demands in agriculture necessitate advanced Agrotechnology to enhance efficiency, improve crop yields, and promote sustainability. The industry relies on these innovations to address modern farming challenges and ensure food security.

Transforming Nigeria’s Farming Sector

Nigeria possesses a vast farming population with the potential to either foster 40 million thriving agricultural enterprises or sustain a population of chronically impoverished farmers struggling to make ends meet. However, the key to unlocking this potential lies in establishing robust financial and support systems.

Financial Inclusion for Farmers

Despite representing a significant portion of Nigeria’s adult population, 20% of adult women (approximately 17 million) and 17 million men remain excluded from the financial system. Additionally, of the 69.7 million adults in rural areas, 44% lack access to financial services.

Established in 2017, NOMA addresses the financial disparities in rural Nigeria, where smallholder farmers face inadequate financial support systems. NOMA supports these farmers by providing financial technologies designed to enhance financial literacy, agribusiness skills, and access to finance.

Through initiatives such as climate-smart financing products, NOMA actively tackles the financial challenges faced by smallholder farmers. By leveraging technology, the company aims to mitigate financing risks, promote financial inclusion, and empower farmers with the necessary capital to improve productivity and economic well-being.

NOMA Core Business

NOMA is an agricultural and rural development company dedicated to fostering sustainable development in Nigeria. The company operates through four key business pillars, driving comprehensive growth and innovation in the sector.

Green Energy Integration and Sustainable Practices

NOMA prioritizes the integration of green energy solutions into agricultural operations to enhance clean energy access and promote sustainable practices. This initiative leverages renewable energy sources to contribute to environmental conservation, bolster the agricultural landscape, and foster rural prosperity.

Financial Inclusion and Access to Finance

NOMA actively addresses the financial challenges faced by smallholder farmers through initiatives that provide access to finance, such as climate-smart financing products. By leveraging technology, the company aims to mitigate financing risks, promote financial inclusion, and empower farmers with the necessary capital to improve productivity and economic well-being.

Mechanization Services for Improved Farming

Recognizing the importance of modern farming techniques, NOMA offers mechanization services to rural farmers. This initiative focuses on introducing advanced agricultural technologies and machinery to enhance farming practices, increase efficiency, and boost overall agricultural productivity in the region.

Technology-driven Rural Resilience and Agricultural Produce Aggregation

Embracing technology as an enabler, NOMA employs innovative solutions to bolster rural resilience. Furthermore, NOMA engages in agricultural produce aggregation, focusing on crops such as rice, hibiscus, wheat, maize, and other cash crops. This integrated approach aims to streamline the agricultural supply chain, optimize production, and enhance market access for smallholder farmers.

Problem Statement

As an agricultural company, we continue to encourage challenges when addressing the needs of smallholder farmers. These challenges includes Technological barriers, shortage of decision making data, Risk Assessment and mitigation, seasonality of farm cashflow, financial literacy issue and regulatory compliance complexities.
